【通信与信息工程学院】Deep Learning HAR with Mobile Sensors

发布时间:2017-06-14   浏览次数:742   发布部门:科研院

Human  activity recognition (HAR) is important in smart health and living. It  can help collect data to give people suggestions on health living style,  to assist doctors on illness diagnosis, as well as to identify  dangerous situations, such as falling, in elder people care. Traditional  HAR has been investigated with machine learning. As the rise of the  deep learning in recent years, this work studies the performance of  employing deep learning algorithms, particularly convolutional neural  network (CNN), for HAR. With mobile sensors, the activity data of  multiple people over multiple months have been collected and then  analyzed with CNN. The evaluation shows that deep learning can achieve  very accurate (>98%) recognition, and outperforms traditional HAR  approaches.
