报告人简介

Prof. Nan-Kuang Chen received the B. Sc. and M. Eng. degrees from the National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan, in 1996 and 1998, respectively, the Ph. D. degree from National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan, in 2006. During July 2006 to July 2007, he was a postdoctoral research fellow with the Department of Photonics, National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan. He was an Assistant Professor (August 2007 – July 2010), Associate Professor (August 2010 – January 2014), and Professor (February 2014 – December 2017) with the Department of Electro-Optical Engineering, and Director of Optoelectronics Research Center (August 2008 – July 2014), and Chief of International Affairs Division, Office of R&D (December 2012 – July 2015), National United University, Taiwan. From Jan 2018, he is a Distinguished Professor with the School of Physics Science and Information Technology, Liaocheng University, China. He has also been invited to be a Ph. D. Student co-supervisor for IIT, Dhanbad in India since September, 2016 (印度理工学院丹巴德分校兼职博士生导师)an SPIE (the international society for optics and photonics) Travelling Lecturer in 2015 and 2017 and Guest Professor for China Jiliang University since May 2014. From 2001, he has engaged in the field of fiber photonics and has authored and co-authored more than 205 international SCI journal and conference articles. He is the awardee of the Flexible Compensation Program to Recruit and Retain Special Outstanding and Talented Faculty, Ministry of Education, from 2013-2015. He has been invited to be reviewers for 45 prestigious SCI international journals, and Research Grants Council, Hong Kong, and Ministry of Science and Technology, Taiwan. He has also served on the International Advisory Committee/Technical Program Committee/Organizing Committee and Session Chair/Reviewers for more than 80 times for many international conferences (including IEEE), delivered 25 invited talks and 1 keynote talk in international conferences (including IEEE Photonics North, OECC, and CLEO-PR) and organized two international conferences (IAPTC 2011 and IEEE/ICAIT 2013). He holds 14 ROC patents, 12 US patents, 1 Korea patent, and 4 PRC patents.
